Peanut butter

I bought bottles of peanut butter initially because I wanted to make peanut butter cookies. Then I just found, or should I say, re-found the goodness of peanut butter sandwiches. I hold off the cookies plan, and stick with peanut butter sandwiches for the moment.

I bought smooth peanut butter in Netherlands and crunchy Skippy in a hypermarket here in Nancy. FYI, peanutbutter is not easily found in France. At the hypermarket, the peanut butter is located at the imported goods along with Suzi Wan, Patak's - you get the idea..

Left: Crunchy Skippy. Right: Smooth Pindakaas
In french peanut butter is called "beurre de cacahauette" Literally translated as peanut butter. But in dutch it is called pindakaas which is literally translated as peanut cheese.. Wierd..

Grilled Salmon, Thai Satay Sauce, Fried Beancurd

Something different this time.
I felt like eating beancurd (tofu) one day. So I encouraged myself to buy the tofu at the near asian store.
I remember the time in Malaysia where we could eat fried tofu with soy sauce. Yum yum. I don't like to eat it with salty kikoman soy sauce. It's too salty. I had my eye on the sweet soy sauce that they have at Fujiyama (local sushi restaurant). Maybe one day I will ask the restaurant if they want to sell a bottle to me.

I found this bottle of satay sauce at a local supermarket. So I thought that I give it a try. Before this they sell also Satay Sauce Ayam brand in a can, but not anymore. The verdict? Ok la.. bottled satay sauce.. enough for the taste, but just like any bottled satay sauce, it is a bit dry.

The whole meal:

What's been inside nyanya's kitchen

It's back.. but this time, it's red!!
The agar-agar lychee..
However, I didn't put enough sugar, so the taste is rather bland.
Make mental note: More sugar, more sugar

Eeekkhh

What to write ah? Yes yes i've been cooking and I think I snapped some photos, but kinda forgot to put them online. Lazy maa.. huhuhu

This afternoon I had lunch with some colleagues in a hypermarket cafeteria. It took us about 20 mins to go and back coz of the traffic. 20 mins late for my afternoon meeting.. oppss..
Well, cafeteria food.. not that great. My colleague said that it's cheap.. well, I could get good food at the same price in town.

Tomorrow lunch might be sushi... I have to give a review on the sushi place which is great. I haven't tried the other sushi place in town, but I think this place can't beat the others.

No photos for now...
